BCECE 2015 Application Form available from February 5, 2015


Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board will make available Application Form of BCECE 2015 from February 5, 2015 onwards. Engineering aspirants, who wish to pursue professional courses in State Engineering colleges, shall appear for BCECE 2015 exam (1st stage) on April 19, 2015. Successful candidates of BCECE 2015 Stage 1 shall appear for its stage 2 exam, which is scheduled for May 17, 2015. Read complete details below.

BCECE 2015 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be Indian citizens.
  • They must have passed Physics, Chemistry Mathematics / Biology as their primary subjects at 10+2.
  • Students appearing for the board exam can also apply.
  • There is no age criterion for engineering applicants.

About last year’s BCECE exam:

More than 1.25 lakh students appeared for the BCECE 2014 Stage 1 exam held across 39 districts in Bihar. Aspirants, who appeared for the BCECE 2014 exam, competed for admissions to 2,989 seats in 6 Government engineering colleges and 12 private engineering colleges in Bihar.

CLAT- Common Law Admission Test


CLAT is a centralised test for admission to prominent National Law Universities in India. The test is taken after the Higher Secondary Examination or the 12th grade for admission to integrated undergraduation programmes in Law and after Graduation in Law for Master of Laws(LL.M) programmes conducted by these law universities. This test was conducted for the first time on 11 May 2008 by NLSIU-Bangalore.[1] A total number of 1037 seats[2] from seven law schools were offered to be filled by the test. The results of the first CLAT were announced on 19 May 2008.[3] The two-hour admission test consists of objective type covering questions on English, general knowledge, basic mathematics, besides legal and logical reasoning.[4] The second CLAT, for the academic year 2009-10, was conducted on 17 May 2009 by Nalsar-hyderabad and subsequently by the preceding NLU(s) according to their establishment.[5]

Today, CLAT has become one of the most competitive admission tests in India with an acceptance rate of only 2% under general merit.

The eligibility requirements are as follows:

Under-Graduate Courses

Senior Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognised Board with not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST candidates) and an age below 20 years as on 1 July of the year of test (22 years in case of SC and ST candidates). Students whose results are awaited can also appear in the test.

Post-Graduate Courses

LL. B/B. L. Degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized University with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC and ST candidates). The candidates who have passed the qualifying degree examination through supplementary/ compartment and repeat attempts are also eligible for appearing in the test and taking admission provided that such candidates will have to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with fifty-five/fifty percent marks, as the case may be, on the date of their admission or within the time allowed by the respective universities
